CEO and Senior Economist

Dr. Ghimire manages and leads the Paribartan initiative with a team of senior experts. He has 20 years of working experience in the development sector as a senior management leader, lead assessor specifically on client protection principles, and project evaluations and managing changes in Nepal including Bhutan, and China. His creative and shared approach to programme management resulted completing of Norlha’s (a Swiss-based INGO) 3 programs from inception to implementation, management and 8 partnership projects assessments (one in China, one in Bhutan) in agriculture and livelihood, earthquake disaster response, gender and financial literacy, rural financing within a short period.

A rigorous and regular country program team support, results- evaluation, research, review and project management support, tool development, need assessment, coaching, monitoring, internal control, internal review, performance evaluation and proactive and evidence-based responses to partners including cooperatives, and stakeholders and working team has resulted in achieving about 95% targeted results at output and outcome levels in 5 years of assignment with Norlha as Regional Director for Nepal, Bhutan, and Nepal programs . In addition, he has 6 years of senior management level working experience in microfinance sector as CEO for Centre for Microfinance (CMF), where he had managed and reviewed 18 projects and 34 member MFIs. Also, Dr. Ghimire managed and assessed 123 business member organizations as CEO for the Nepal-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NGCCI) for 3 years. Feasibility conducted on a Centralized ICT platform for MFIs in Nepal as one of the microfinance expert team members for the World Bank (2008).

He is now fully committed to using the skills and learnings gained from his almost 22 years of experience on 60 different evaluations and assessments, and research, and project implementation including leadership in rural finance and agriculture and livelihood sector and programming. He undertakes a further challenge as an independent assessor through this ChangE initiative after leaving Norlha on August 31, 2017.

He is an internationally accredited Lead Assessor for Client Protection Principles by Smart Campaign, USA http://www.smartcampaign.org/certification/2-assess/lead-assessors. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics in Rural Development Planning in Nepal, and Post Graduate in Integrated Rural and Regional Development Planning from Development Study Centre, Israel. He also holds a Master in Economics with a specialization in Econometrics. He has training in the Boulder microfinance program, networking, and monitoring & evaluation. He has skilled in using SPSS and running statistical analysis specifically T-test, Chi-square test, and regression analysis.
